Program Information:

The Medical Office Assistant diploma program at Medix School has been designed to enable graduates to achieve a high level of competence in medical office administrative and clinical skills. The Medical Office Assistant program consists of organizational skills, health information management, patient billing, data collection, medical transcription, creating and maintaining databases, competency in Microsoft Office®, telephone skills and appointment scheduling.

A component of the Medical Office Assistant program is an externship placement which will occur at various locations such as walk-in clinics, hospitals, medical offices and community health centres.

Graduates will be qualified to work in various positions such as Medical Office Assistant, Medical Receptionist, Medical Billing clerk, Medical Billing Specialist, Medical Transcriptionist and Medical Office Administrator.
