Program Information: 

The 12-month Paralegal – Advocate Diploma Program prepares students to enter the dynamic and challenging legal profession. Students learn about all elements of the Canadian legal system, such as procedures and practices litigation, small claims court, and criminal procedure. They gain an understanding of employment law, residential landlord and tenant law, torts, contracts, and more.

Graduates of this program are prepared to compete for paralegal jobs in corporate legal departments, courts and legal clinics, law firms, financial institutions, insurance companies, or in government. Paralegals may act as representatives for clients in landlord/tenant matters, federal and provincial tribunals, small claims court, name changes, and minor civil matters.

This program is accredited by the Law Society of Upper Canada. Graduates are required to write the Law Society’s Paralegal Licensing exam in order to practice in the Province of Ontario.
